VÖÖRI 2 APARTMENT BUILDINGS WITH COMMERCIAL PREMISES AND THE YACHT HARBOUR OF THE OLD TOWN
An apartment building with commercial premises containing five corpuses has been designed on the plot of Vööri 2, located in the city centre in an attractive location, bordered by the sea on three sides. A publicly used beach promenade has been designed for the part bordered by the sea, for which pedestrian walkways and landscaping have been planned.
In addition to houses and the beach promenade, a yacht and boat harbour with 80 sites has been designed for the western side of the area. Rooms necessary for the yacht harbour are planned in the harbour-side corpus of the house.
Five residential corpuses form a completed whole with monumental architecture on the coastal area, the partitioned massiveness of which is expressed in the increasing size of balconies and roof terraces towards the sea, reminding of a cliff. Inspired by the ship traffic of the Tallinn harbour, the buildings have a noticeable connection with white modern architecture and the dynamic form of ships.
The horizontal and vertical partitioning of exterior architecture of the house’s corpuses helps to design interior architecture in a way that all planned apartments have a view to the sea or the Old Town.
